Exercising As a Smoker

Who Says You Can't Exercise Your Right To Smoke And Exercise Your Body?

It is true that you lose lung capacity through smoking. After you quit, your lung function will increase within 2 weeks time and you will find exercising simpler. You won't run out of breath as soon as you do now. For some people this is not even a problem. Some people smoke a pack a day and can run a marathon. For those who are unlucky enough lack this gift, there are ways to start exercising.

You may hear that it is bad to exercise and smoke, but a fit smoker is better than a fat lazy smoker.

Before advice is given on how to exercise, it should also be known that it is the chemical additives in cigarettes that does most of the damage to your endurance. You could try smoking chemical and additive free tobacco.

To begin your quest as a fit smoker, you may want to start out slow.

Walk a mile a day for one whole week. Then the next week walk half a mile then run half a mile. Once you get in the groove of running you can begin running the whole distance. Increase your distance every week until you feel that you are running a reasonable distance. If you can't run everyday, choose to run every other day.

REMEMBER, a fit smoker is better off than a fat lazy smoker.

Don't be surprised if you decide to quit smoking after you begin exercising. Some people start exercising and fall in love with the endorphins as opposed to the ones released from smoking.

ENDORPHINS

Before you started smoking, your body produced and released Endorphins regularly. When you started smoking regularly you caused your body's natural regular production of endorphins to cease. Endorphins are only released now when you smoke. The nicotine causes a chemical reaction that forces your body to release many endorphins. This release relaxes and lowers your stress level. This is a big reason people become addicted to smoking.

Start exercising and your body will release endorphins not only when you smoke, but also when you make yourself sweat at the gym!

FACT: Smokers with high cholesterol and blood pressure who are in good physical shape tend to live longer than smokers who are inactive.

By Exercising you can...

* Improve your physical condition (also means better lungs and less breathlessness)

* Get happy (release of endorphins)

* Reduce Stress

* Boost confidence

* Experience less cravings (you have to admit smoking is bad for you, so smoking less is better for your health)
